Bio: Sunkid was born in Halifax, Canada and is one of the most successful trance DJs to emerge from his home town. Ever since his first encounter with German hard trance and acid in 1994, sunkid knew that he had truly found his purpose in life. At first avidly collecting records to play for his radio show on CKDU-FM, by 1998 when he exploded onto Eastern Canada's rave scene, his musical knowledge was already as exhaustive as his taste is decisive. From ambient chill rooms to storming acid techno sets, sunkid became a regular at raves and festivals in almost every province in Eastern Canada, playing alongside headliners such as The Advent, John Aquaviva, Andy Hughs of the Orb, BT, Plastikman, and many others. Starting in 1999, sunkid began to focus on Goa and Psytrance and began to promote trance parties in Halifax. Together with a small but dedicated group of DJs and artists, sunkid put together several psychedelic parties from 1998 until 2004. He was also invited to play at a festival in Ontario during this time featuring Astral Projection. In 2007 sunkid headed to the Vancouver, where he quickly became a favourite, getting regularly booked to play by all the local psy production companies for indoor and outdoor parties. Sunkid has played over a dozen times at the legendary Organix club night, which has also hosted Hallucinogen, Shakta, Mad Maxx, Growling Mad Scientists, John Phantasm, Xenomorph, Eskimo, Infected Mushroom, Aya, Mindfield and many, many others. In 2009 sunkid and Vancouver local safiire joined forces to become Irken Kitties. They threw one party in October, featuring Yuki aka Spiritual Walker from Japan and VOnE from Hong Kong. Now travelling in Australia, sunkid has played for three production companies in Melbourne, as well as a stunning sunrise set at the legendary Tribeadelic NYE party and is looking forward to playing in the Australian bush in the summer of 2010 and 2011. Sunkid's style reflects his many years of experience, choosing only the perfect tracks, destined to bring the dancefloor to the next plane of consciousness. Sunkid likes to make you laugh, engage your emotions, and take you on a journey. October 2010 set at Big:Red:Bus
